Ripoll, in central Catalonia, has launched a new town challenge called “Ripoll amb Ulls Tafaners”, or “Ripoll with Curious Eyes”, aimed at helping residents and visitors notice details they may usually pass by.

The activity asks participants to find 36 specific photographic locations around the town and complete a booklet. The booklet is available at the Tourist Office, at the entrance to the Ethnographic Museum.

Those who finish the booklet and return it to the same office before 31 July 2026 will be entered into a draw for a prize of local products. The town council says the initiative is meant to highlight curiosities and features that are often overlooked in everyday life.

The project was presented this morning with mayor Sílvia Orriols and Jordi Reolid, a civic agent for the town council. Reolid came up with the idea and developed it with municipal technicians.

Large-format versions of the photographs are on display at the museum entrance, and they are also available online. The Tourist Office gives each participant a booklet and a pencil to note the location of each image.

The photographs include sculptures, reliefs, mosaics, benches and fountains. The council says the challenge is also intended to encourage a slower walk through the town and a closer look at Ripoll’s cultural and architectural heritage. For more local updates, see news from Catalonia.
