Free Access to Museums and Historic Sites

From Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October, Reus will open its doors to a range of cultural sites as part of the European Heritage Days (JEP), an initiative by the Council of Europe and the European Commission celebrated annually in Catalonia since 1991. The Museu de Reus will offer free public access to its spaces at La Llibertat, El Raval, and CIMIR between 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–19:00 on Friday and Saturday, and from 11:00–14:00 on Sunday. These venues will showcase the city’s historical and artistic legacy through curated exhibitions and guided tours.

Guided Tours and Special Visits

On Saturday 10 October, two guided visits will take place. At 11:00, there will be a tour of the Bòbila del Sugranyes, followed by free access to the site from 11:30 to 14:00. Later that day, at 17:30, a guided visit to the Patacada air-raid shelter will be offered, with free entry available from 18:00 to 20:00.

Registration is required for all guided tours via the official website museudereus.cat.

These activities aim to deepen public understanding of Reus’s architectural and wartime heritage, particularly during the Spanish Civil War.

Gaudí and Modernism Celebrated Across the City

The Biblioteca Xavier Amorós will host several events tied to Antoni Gaudí and Modernism. From 5 to 13 October, visitors can view an exhibition of original newspapers documenting the Gaudí Cornet family in local historical press. A photography exhibit titled "Llums i ombres en l’espai Gaudí Centre" by Cesc Escoda will run from 1 to 10 October. On Friday 9 October at 19:00, Marta Antuñano, a museologist who played a key role in restoring Casa Vicens, will deliver a lecture titled "Casa Vicens, the First House of Gaudí" as part of the Àrea Gaudí programme. Saturday 10 October begins at 10:00 with "Reporters del Modernisme", a family-friendly activity allowing participants to explore historical archives and learn about traditional printing techniques.

  • Friday 9 Oct: "Ho sabeu tot de Gaudí?" – a walking tour of Gaudí-related sites in central Reus.
  • Friday 9 Oct: Modernist-themed scavenger hunt through Reus streets.
  • Saturday 10 Oct: "Codi Gaudí" escape room at Gaudí Centre, team-based puzzle challenge.

On Sunday 11 October, free public visits will be available at three major cultural venues:

These coincide with the broader Reus 1900. Festa Modernista, a citywide celebration of early 20th-century Catalan culture.
