Free guided night tours at Reus cemetery
The 18th edition of the night-time theatrical guided tours at Reus General Cemetery will take place on Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October. Each evening will feature three sessions at 7:45pm, 8:45pm and 9:45pm, all free of charge but requiring prior booking.
Organised by FuneCamp, the supramunicipal funeral services body, the visits aim to highlight the historical and artistic heritage preserved within the cemetery. The event has grown in popularity over 18 consecutive years, reflecting increasing public interest in local history and heritage.
These visits respond to a growing interest in discovering the cemetery’s heritage, especially this year as municipal funeral services mark 40 years of operation.
Booking process and limited spaces
Pre-registration for the nine available sessions opens at 10:00 on Monday 5 October and closes at 10:00 on Monday 12 October via the FuneCamp website. Each person may request up to four places for their preferred session.
Each tour is limited to 40 people for safety reasons. Sessions receiving 40 or fewer pre-registrations will be confirmed automatically. If demand exceeds capacity, a public draw will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday 13 October in the Municipal Crematorium’s ceremony hall to allocate places.
Successful applicants will receive final invitations by email and must confirm attendance by replying to the message.
Artistic and historical focus
The theatre group La Gata Borda will again lead the themed tours, highlighting artistically significant tombs and chapels, as well as key historical events from Reus and its surrounding area that are commemorated in the cemetery.
The cemetery’s cultural outreach has recently been recognised nationally, winning the 2026 Innovation Award from the Association of Municipal Funeral Services and Cemeteries (AFCM) for its 'Spring at Reus General Cemetery' project.
