Business leaders in La Seu d'Urgell are broadly optimistic about 2026, according to a survey presented at the 37th Pirineu Business Meeting. The event, held at the Palau Municipal d’Esports, found that 81% expect revenue to rise next year compared with 2025.

The same barometer showed that 54% expect profits to increase, 34% think they will stay the same, and nearly 10% foresee a fall. On jobs, 66% of businesses said they expect to create new positions, while 29% do not.

Views on migration were also part of the survey. A total of 62% of business owners said they support migratory flows if they are linked to job offers, while 30% called for stricter criteria.

Montse Pujol, president of the meeting, said the survey reflects the maturity of businesses in the Lleida region. She said the summit matters at a time of global economic uncertainty, adding that meeting in person is a strategic decision and that confidence is now the main competitive advantage.

The barometer also asked about the European Union’s priority allies. More than 43% of respondents said the EU should act independently, 20% chose the United States and 27% selected China. The meeting brought together more than 900 executives, accredited around 60 journalists and filled 21 hotels in Alt Urgell and Andorra. More Catalonia business news

Xavier Espot, head of government of Andorra, opened the event by speaking about Andorra’s role in the global economy and its association treaty. He said he believes the treaty will move forward despite the current blockage by Bulgaria, and said he hopes the issue will be resolved before Andorran government elections, which are less than a year away. He also said Andorra’s path is to strengthen openness, knowledge, innovation and economic diversification, with the aim of attracting talent, research and higher-value activity.
