The IX Antoni Carné Awards for Catalan Cultural Associationism will be presented at the Parlament de Catalunya on Friday 30 October at 6pm. Cultural groups and individuals have until 30 September to put forward candidates, offering associations a route to recognition and a share of €5,500 in prize money.
The awards are organised by the Ens de l’Associacionisme Cultural Català (ENS), an organisation representing Catalan cultural associations. Parliament president Josep Rull and Culture Minister Sònia Hernández Almodóvar are expected to attend the ceremony.
Five categories open for nominations
Entries can be submitted by email to [email protected] in the following categories:
- Person
- Communication
- Activity
- Project
- Association
Under the award rules, entries submitted by organisations belonging to a national-level federation, or by those federations themselves, receive one additional assessment point. ENS says the measure is intended to strengthen links between cultural associations.
The winners of the Person, Communication, Activity and Project categories will be announced in the weeks before the ceremony through Tornaveu and ENS’s corporate website. The Association category winner will be announced at the Parlament on 30 October.
Music from Cor Madrigal at the ceremony
Journalist Elisabet Carnicé will host the event. Cor Madrigal will perform works by Joaquim Serra, Lluís Maria Millet, Manuel Oltra and Joan Manén.
ENS will also announce the municipality selected to host the tenth edition of the awards at the end of the ceremony.
The awards are supported by Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes and BBVA, Previsora General, Arç Cooperativa, bonÀrea and the Generalitat’s Department of Culture.
