The MV Hondius cruise ship is set to depart Tenerife this afternoon, according to the Spanish government. This follows the completion of the passenger evacuation operation from the vessel, which had passengers with hantavirus.
Throughout Monday morning, the ship's fuel tank will be refilled, allowing it to continue its journey towards the Netherlands. Ángel Víctor Torres, the Minister of Territorial Policy, stated that the operation is expected to conclude by 19:00, or possibly earlier.
Cruise Ship's Journey Continues
The MV Hondius had been docked in Tenerife while authorities managed the situation involving passengers diagnosed with hantavirus. The swift evacuation and refuelling efforts aim to minimise disruption and allow the ship to resume its planned itinerary. The government's priority has been the safe handling of the health situation and ensuring the vessel's prompt departure.
