The Mescla gastronomy, landscape, and tourism fair in Deltebre, Terres de l'Ebre, will return from 22 to 24 May 2026, featuring a record 56 stands and the incorporation of DO Terra Alta as a sponsor. This year's edition marks a significant expansion for the event, which celebrates the region's culinary and natural heritage.
The fair, held at the Fluvial Park of the Ebro Delta, has grown substantially since its inception in 2016. According to Deltebre's mayor, Lluís Soler, what "began as a humble fair has today become a benchmark exhibition and a source of pride for the town and the entire territory."
A key development for this year's Mescla is the official sponsorship by the Terra Alta Designation of Origin (DO), strengthening the link between the Ebro region's wineries and the event. Jordi Rius, secretary of the DO, explained that they "understood from an early stage that being present at Mescla was a good opportunity to promote our products, as it is one of the most important fairs in the territory."
Nomen Foods continues its support as a sponsor, with its financial director, Joan Tomàs, highlighting that "Mescla serves as a showcase for our rice and an opportunity to continue bringing our company closer to initiatives that arise in the municipality and the territory." The fair will also expand its unique 'Mescla a Bord' experience, programming 17 sessions that combine local produce with scenic boat trips along the Ebro River. Tickets for these sessions will be available for purchase via the Mescla website from next week.
Enhanced Experiences and Inclusivity
Mescla nights will again feature live music, with a programme including The Flaming Shakers (a Beatles tribute) on Friday, Los 80 Principales on Saturday, and Momo the Queen Tribute on Sunday, alongside other musical acts throughout the weekend. To improve visitor comfort and experience, this year's event will feature an expanded marquee and a new outdoor bar.
The organisers maintain their commitment to an inclusive fair, implementing measures such as hearing protection headphones, an inclusive nursery service, tables of varying heights, and a quiet zone. Lola Casanova, Councillor for Tourism Focus, Sustainability, and Beaches, emphasised that "Mescla is product, talent, and experience. And we work to ensure it continues to consolidate, year after year, with more strength, more novelties, and representing the strength and potential of an entire territory."
Celebrating Regional Heritage
The official Mescla poster for this edition was also unveiled, featuring a central composition of ceramic plates forming the iconic 'M' of the Mescla logo. The design uses bright, diverse tones, reflecting the wide range of experiences offered by Mescla, from its enogastronomic proposals to unique activities like 'Mescla a Bord'.
Organised in collaboration with the FECOTUR association, Mescla is held within the framework of Deltebre's anniversary of its segregation from Tortosa, an event commemorating 49 years since the municipality's constitution this year. The full programme for the fair is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
