In Lleida, bankruptcy report documents list Marc Torres as the sole agent for Lleida CF since September 2024. The record differs from Torres’s public statements, in which he has said he was acting as the club’s lawyer and spokesperson.
Torres made those comments on the +Lleida programme on Lleida TV on 22 September 2025. He said: “I am just a lawyer for a football club doing my job, for better or worse, and due to circumstances, you know the president's situation [Luis Pereira's delicate health], I have taken on the role of spokesperson, but I am still a citizen.”
The bankruptcy report says: “Regarding Agents, and as derived from the documentation provided in the Explanatory Memorandum, only Mr. Marc Torres Bacardí is listed as an agent of the bankrupt Entity, whose enabling title stems from the public deed of General Power of Attorney authorised on 26 September 2024, by the Notary of Lleida, Don (...).”
The same report adds that the bankrupt entity “is not legally obliged to audit its Annual Accounts.” SEGRE reported on 7 June 2025 that Vicente Javaloyes, one of the eight owner-partners of Lleida Ponent Club de Futbol, asked for an Extraordinary General Assembly by burofax. He wanted information on the club’s situation.
Among the items he requested were “information and, where appropriate, approval of the results of the accounting audit and due diligence performed.” No assembly was called, despite Torres’s repeated claims of maximum transparency. For background on the outlet’s coverage, see news.
Torres also criticised SEGRE for publishing figures and conclusions from the bankruptcy report, and for reporting on due diligence figures commissioned by a Lleida investment group. That study indicated a potential economic risk of €9,108,772.36, which was not presented as debt but as a reflection of the club’s financial position.
