Manresa will invest a record €2.5 million in its Public Space Improvement Plan in 2026, the city council has announced. The funding comes as the programme marks its tenth year and will support work on pavements, roads, children's parks and rural paths across the city.

The 2026 allocation is the highest annual figure since the plan began. According to the council's figures, it takes total spending on the programme to €12.5 million over the decade. Annual investment was €1 million from 2017 to 2023, then rose to €1.5 million in 2024 and 2025.

The plan has been a steady part of Manresa's approach to maintaining and updating public space. The council says the programme is aimed at practical improvements that affect daily life, from pedestrian areas to recreational spaces for families.

Specific projects for 2026 have not yet been detailed. Even so, the larger budget suggests a wider scope for works than in previous years, with the city expected to set out priorities as the year progresses.
