L'Hospitalet de Llobregat police have arrested one man after a raid on Bar Josué in the La Torrassa neighbourhood, following complaints about noise from the premises.

Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guardia Urbana carried out the operation on 1 June. Municipal sources said officers found the bar open in the early hours of Monday morning, with customers inside, loud music and a strong smell of marijuana.

According to Metrópoli Abierta, officers arrived at about 6:30am. They told customers and the manager that the premises would be cleared, but one customer allegedly reacted with a hostile attitude and was arrested for resistance and disobedience.

The transfer to police facilities was also said to have been difficult because of his resistance. Police carried out an administrative inspection and issued a report for various irregularities. The bar owner also received a complaint under Organic Law 4/2015 for alleged disrespect towards officers and for obstructing their work.

The action forms part of L'Hospitalet City Council's Pla Nautilus, a police strategy aimed at tackling problems linked to nightlife businesses. Residents of Rambla Catalana have complained for years about disturbances and insecurity linked to Bar Josué.

The premises has also been sealed by the Guardia Urbana in recent years, according to the report. Just a month earlier, on 4 May, a shooting took place outside the bar. At the time, the owner distanced the business and its clientele from the incident, while local residents said drug dealing, fights and anti-social behaviour are common there.
