Lloret de Mar's Equality department is organising a social theatre programme for women in May, with sessions scheduled to take place at the Teatre de Lloret.
The initiative, supported by Enraona Teatre, aims to help participants explore social inequalities through theatrical expression. If the pilot programme is well-received, the council plans to extend the sessions throughout the 2026-27 academic year, from October 2026 to June 2027.
The project is led by members of the Dagoll Dagom theatre company, which has successfully implemented similar programmes in other Women's Information and Assistance Services (SIADs) across Catalonia.
Building Confidence and Community
Míriam Rodríguez, the Councillor for Equality, explained the programme's goals. "The objectives of this initiative are to develop confidence and personal empowerment, as well as to work through theatre to explore emotions, stories, and personal realities," Rodríguez said. She added, "We also want to create bonds between women, and it is a tool to give visibility to inequalities and social transformation."
The council is inviting all women in Lloret to participate, regardless of their background or circumstances. The programme seeks to create a space where women can share experiences, grow, and empower themselves collectively.
