Lleida police arrested four young people in La Bordeta on Tuesday afternoon after a violent confrontation linked to a squatted flat left two people injured, according to Segre.

The arrested group, three men and one woman aged between 18 and 21, was detained by the Mossos d’Esquadra with support from the Guàrdia Urbana. Officers seized two axes, bladed weapons, bars and shovels, among other items, after stones and pieces of brick were thrown during the incident.

The clash took place around 13:00 on Hostal de la Bordeta, Sant Jaume and Beata Jornet streets, near El Carme school. It began when the son of the flat owner went to the property and argued with the squatters, before being assaulted and chased into the street.

Residents and shopkeepers intervened to help him, and the group initially left the area before returning minutes later armed, which led to a second disturbance and threats against neighbours. Patrols from the Mossos d’Esquadra, including ARRO officers, and the Guàrdia Urbana then arrived at the scene.

An off-duty officer later located the alleged attackers as they fled through nearby streets, allowing police to intercept and arrest them, initially on suspicion of threats. Two people were injured, one after being hit in the face by a stone and another after being struck with a screwdriver handle.

Both injured people received medical attention from the SEM, which sent two ambulances. The Mossos d’Esquadra have kept the investigation open and do not rule out further arrests, while the detainees are expected to face additional allegations related to assault and public disorder.
