Police in Lleida arrested two men on Thursday, 28 May, in the Secà de Sant Pere neighbourhood over alleged public health offences linked to drugs.
One man, aged 32, was detained on suspicion of cocaine dealing. Officers said he had been under investigation since March for allegedly distributing cocaine near his home, which they believe he used to store and prepare the drug for sale.
During surveillance, police said they observed 16 retail cocaine sales. After the arrest, officers searched the property on Friday morning and seized 44 grams of rock cocaine.
While searching the first suspect's home, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from a nearby flat. They found the owner of that property, who admitted to having plants and allowed police to enter.
Inside the flat, officers found 35 cannabis plants. The owner, aged 52, was arrested for a public health offence and for an outstanding warrant from a court in Torrelavega, Spain.
Both men are expected to appear before the investigating court on duty in Lleida. For more local reporting, see our news coverage.
