L'Hospitalet de Llobregat is hosting its annual craft beer festival in Plaça de Lluís Companys, offering a selection of 75 taps and more than 200 different beers from around the world. The event, a key date for craft beer fans, includes special editions from local and international brewers, some of which are exclusive or hard to find outside their home countries.
Fifteen brewery stalls are present, alongside four food trucks serving street food and live music performances. Entry to the festival is free, according to El Periódico Barcelona.
Culinary Events Across Catalonia
Beyond L'Hospitalet, Barcelona and other Catalan towns are offering a range of gastronomic events this weekend. The city of Barcelona itself is holding a veteran food festival at Moll de la Fusta, bringing together over 100 local gastronomic and artisan projects.
This year's Barcelona festival introduces new participants such as Pinullet urban cheesery, The Nut Club's natural vegetable creams, Boletruff wild mushrooms, Farrés Boqueria cured meats, La Nostra Mel raw honey, and The Rat contemporary ratafia. Festival regulars include Oli Cometes extra virgin olive oil, Kina Chocolates' bean-to-bar chocolates, El Petit Bané organic fruits and vegetables, and Outer Gin's botanical gins. The event also features artisan items for the table and zero-waste consumption projects.
The street food offerings at the Barcelona festival include well-known names from the city's culinary scene: Aüc, Osteria Borbotta, Colmado Carpanta, Tope, Mantis, Warike, Bien Kebab, and La Cachapera. Attendees can also find craft beers, Swiss cheeses, sweet treats from Morreig, Pasté, Mamma Tiramisú, Alterna Mostrador, DelaCrem, and speciality coffee from Nomad Coffee. Workshops, round tables, and classic wooden sailboat rides are also part of the programme.
Vermouth and Wine Celebrations
Vilanova i la Geltrú is holding the second edition of Temps de Vermut, a fair celebrating the essence and diversity of vermouth. The main location for this event is Passeig del Carme, a key avenue for maritime gastronomy in the city. Participants include Aperitius Tafaner, Coca i Fitó, Witty Wines, Antich, Caldero & Copa, 3 Cadires, Olivariana, Casa Vermouth Padró, Dos Déus, Bodegas Bellod, Maset, and Patates Piqué. Live music will be featured, with DJ Xavi V on Saturday 25 April and DJ Atmotic on Sunday 26 April. Activities include vermouth tastings on 25 April at 12.30pm and a workshop to create your own drink on 26 April at 12.30pm. The fair will also have a children's area.
Meanwhile, the Terra Alta Designation of Origin (DO) is inviting visitors to explore the region through its wines, gastronomy, and heritage with the Primavera DO Terra Alta festival. A new addition this year is the 'Tastos de paisatge' (Landscape Tastings) cycle, which takes place in iconic locations across the region. These small-group experiences aim to connect wine with its natural, heritage, and cultural surroundings.
On Friday 24 April, Gandesa will host an enomusical evening in Plaça del Comerç from 7pm to 11pm, featuring DO Terra Alta wines, local gastronomy by Piqué, cultural activities, and DJ music throughout the day. On Saturday 25 April, Batea will be the centre of the celebration with the Mostra de Vins de la DO Terra Alta (Terra Alta DO Wine Exhibition) in Plaça de Catalunya. This event will offer guided tastings, gastronomy by Ca l'Anton, live music from Caipirinyes and The Tyets, and children's activities.
