Granollers, in the Barcelona region, officially opened its new municipal swimming pools on 9 May. Following a full renovation, the facility now boasts the third-largest water surface area of any swimming pool complex in Catalonia.

The extensive rehabilitation project aimed to modernise the existing infrastructure and expand its capacity. This upgrade positions Granollers with a significant aquatic facility, offering enhanced services for residents and visitors.

A Major Aquatic Facility

Officials confirmed the new pools are now the third largest in Catalonia in terms of water surface. This places Granollers' municipal pools among the top aquatic centres in the region, behind only two other installations. The project involved a complete overhaul, ensuring modern standards for safety, accessibility, and user experience.

The opening marks a new chapter for public sports facilities in Granollers. Local authorities expect the upgraded pools to become a popular destination, supporting community health and recreational activities throughout the year.
