Granollers officially opened its newly renovated municipal swimming pools on Saturday, 9 May. The comprehensive rehabilitation project modernised the facilities, improving functionality, accessibility, safety, and energy efficiency. The upgrade included expanding pools 1 and 2, and enlarging the building to provide more space for complementary activities.
The new centre now boasts one of Catalonia's largest water surfaces, ranking third in the region. The inauguration ceremony featured various exhibitions in the new spaces, with Granollers Mayor Alba Barnusell and Club Natació Granollers President Toni Gili welcoming attendees.
Inaugural Celebrations and Public Access
During the morning, the Xics de Granollers performed an aquatic 'pilar de 4' human tower in the smaller pool. The Spanish Artistic Swimming Team gave a display in the main pool, followed by choreographies from various sections of the Club Natació Granollers.
To mark the opening, Granollers City Council and Club Natació Granollers are organising public activities throughout May. These events aim to promote sport and make the new facilities accessible to all residents, according to officials. A full programme of activities is available for consultation.
