In Girona, fifty employees from pet food company Gosbi took part in an environmental volunteering day on Friday, 22 May 2026. The session was held at Gosbi's Mas l'Arbreda estate and was organised by the Sèlvans Foundation as part of the Rocacorba Mountains Project.

Staff built nest boxes for nocturnal birds of prey and shelters for bats. The habitats will be installed in strategic locations across the Rocacorba Mountains in the coming weeks, with the aim of supporting the recovery of these species in the area.

The Rocacorba Mountains are a natural area in the Girona province, and the project is focused on improving conditions for local wildlife. According to the Sèlvans Foundation, shelters like these can provide safe breeding grounds and roosting sites that are important for survival and population growth.

The day also shows how corporate volunteering can support conservation work in Catalonia. For readers following local environmental news, see our news coverage for more updates from across the region.
