Three-Part Series Launches in Osona

Family businesses will take centre stage in a new itinerant conversation series, En Clau Familiar, launching across Catalonia. The initiative, promoted by ASCEF, EY and The New Barcelona Post, will host three in-person meetings in Osona, Reus and Girona from October to December 2026, focusing on the sector’s impact on local economies, generational transition and talent management. The first event will take place on 27 October in Osona at the Sala Torras i Bages of the Seminari de Vic, with support from the Consell Empresarial d’Osona (CEDO). It will examine how family businesses contribute to economic activity, employment and social cohesion in their regions.

Osona: Business and Community Ties

Speakers in Osona will include Gemma Vivet, CEO of Grup Gepork and president of CEDO, and Rosa Tous, corporate vice president of TOUS and president of ASCEF. They will deliver keynote addresses before a discussion between Francesc Giné Sabata, CEO of Grup Gepork, and Julià Ferrer, general manager of Frigorífics Ferrer. The session will highlight how family enterprises remain rooted in their territories while growing sustainably. Journalist Jofre Llombart will moderate all three events, which will combine institutional input with open dialogue among local business leaders, followed by networking.

Reus and Girona Sessions to Follow

The second meeting will be held in Reus on 18 November, focusing on generational succession. Organised with El Círcol de Reus, it will explore leadership transitions, intergenerational collaboration and preparing younger family members for management roles.

The cycle aims to put names, experiences and voices to the challenges facing Catalan family businesses.

The final session will take place in Girona on 1 December, hosted with the Cambra de Comerç de Girona and the Cátedra Cámara de la Empresa Familiar at the University of Girona. It will focus on talent retention, corporate culture and the role of employees in family-run firms.

Digital Content to Extend Reach

Beyond the live events, En Clau Familiar will produce written chronicles, digital content and short audiovisual capsules published via The New Barcelona Post, ensuring wider access to the discussions. Each event will be in person, but key insights will be shared online to broaden the conversation across Catalonia.
