In Catalonia, the Garraf tunnels between Garraf and Sitges have reopened to double-track operation for R2 Sud and Southern Regional trains, officials confirmed today.

The reopening follows repair work that began on 15 March after damage in the tunnels was worsened by winter storms. The work had been under way for several months.

The repairs were carried out to address structural issues inside the tunnels and to improve the safety and stability of the railway infrastructure. Officials said the project was intended to reduce the risk of future disruption from similar weather conditions.

With both tracks now in service again, train frequencies and journey times are expected to return to normal on these routes. That should improve links for commuters and other passengers travelling through the Garraf area.
