Tortosa, Terres de l'Ebre – The Festivals Terres de l'Ebre brand has announced its 2026 season, featuring 17 festivals spread across more than 25 municipalities in the Baix Ebre, Montsià, Ribera d'Ebre, and Terra Alta counties. The programme, presented by the Culturava Collective at the Tortosa Museum, aims to unite the four counties through culture.

Officials emphasised the project's focus on regional cohesion, extending beyond municipal borders. "The project does not understand municipal borders but works with this important territorial outlook, uniting the four counties and projecting them far beyond our borders," a representative stated. This approach seeks to strengthen the Terres de l'Ebre as a unified cultural area.

Culture as a Necessity

Speakers at the presentation highlighted culture as a fundamental right and necessity, not a luxury. "Culture is not a luxury, it is a necessity, it is a duty and that is why we must all work to make it accessible to everyone and for everyone to have the right to it," one official said. The Diputació de Tarragona pledged its support, affirming its commitment to the initiative.

The festivals, scheduled from March to November, will feature contemporary and professional cultural events, including some that have received national culture awards. Organisers expressed pride in the region's cultural offerings, noting that the events are created by and for local residents to enjoy. The brand also aims to help festivals become more inclusive, ensuring wider access to cultural experiences.
