Five La Noguera communities will continue their Festa Major programmes this weekend, with music, food and family events still scheduled after midday on Saturday 12 September. A Festa Major is a town’s annual public festival, and the remaining events include tonight’s dance in Ribelles, youth music in Térmens and Vilanova de Meià, and Sunday fireworks in Térmens and Bellcaire d’Urgell.

For residents planning an evening out, Ribelles will hold a dance with Orquestra Crystal at 8pm in the village. The programme also includes a community supper during the interval, with toast and herrings, followed by a prize draw.

Saturday afternoon and evening programmes

In Térmens, Saturday afternoon will include a foam party with swimming-pool activities and music. The night programme will feature a community dinner, a concert by Papixules and, from midnight, Nit Jove, a youth music night with cover band Punts Suspensius and DJ sets by Nash, Laro and Yeno.

Bellcaire d’Urgell will host a 120-metre inflatable obstacle course in Plaça Mercat during the afternoon. Its traditional Sopar de Cassoles communal dinner will take place at the Poliesportiu Municipal sports hall in the evening, followed by Hotel Cochambre and DJs Moncho and Trunk.

  • Vilanova de Meià will hold a children’s show by Gil Ratataplám at 5.30pm, followed by hot chocolate and coca, a sweet flatbread, for attendees.
  • The town’s Plaça Major will then host an afternoon dance with Quartet Glace, before a Nit Jove event with Los80 Principales and a DJ.
  • In Ribelles, part of the municipality of Vilanova de l’Aguda, Orquestra Crystal is due to begin its dance at 8pm.

Sunday concerts, children’s activities and fireworks

Orquestra Saturno will give a concert and dance in Plaça Catalunya during the afternoon. Diables Els Follets will bring the main weekend programme to a close with fireworks at 10pm.

Bellcaire d’Urgell has scheduled children’s entertainment, a religious service and the traditional Festa Major vermouth on Sunday, followed by a concert and dance with Orquestra Mediterrània. Pirotècnia Catalana is due to set off fireworks at 10pm.

Ponts, Bellcaire and Vilanova de Meià finish on Monday

Ponts’ final day, Monday 14 September, will begin with an 11am parade leaving the Ajuntament, the town hall. A sardana performance, featuring the traditional Catalan circle dance, is due at 1pm, followed by Orquestra Rosaleda’s concert and extended afternoon dance from 6pm.

Bellcaire d’Urgell will close with a community walk and breakfast organised by the Penya Barça supporters’ group, plus a morning inflatable park at the Poliesportiu Municipal.
