Catalan pop group Els Pets will perform the final two concerts of their 'Cantant les quaranta' (Singing the Forties) tour in Valls, Tarragona, this December. The shows at the Centre Cultural Municipal will celebrate the band's 40th anniversary, a rare milestone in Catalan pop history, according to officials.
The tour features the band playing four of their most iconic albums in full. These two Valls performances will be distinct, with one show featuring the albums "Calla i Balla" (Shut Up and Dance) and "Som" (We Are), and the other presenting "Bon dia" (Good Morning) and "Agost" (August). These concerts are a way for the group to thank fans for 40 years of loyalty.
Celebrating Four Decades of Music
Els Pets have already sold out 15 initial tour dates. The newly announced Valls concerts, scheduled for 5 and 6 December, will be the last in the Tarragona region. This closing coincides with the band's proclamation as the new Ambassadors of the Xiquets de Valls, a local human tower group. Valls' human tower groups chose to recognise the cultural and emotional connection the Constantí-based band has always had with the city and the 'casteller' (human tower) world.
These December concerts offer a chance to end the 'casteller' season with Els Pets as ambassadors. The first concert on 5 December will feature "Bon dia" and "Agost", followed by "Calla i Balla" and "Som" on 6 December. Both shows start at 20:00.
