Solsona, Catalonia: Musician Eduard Gener will present his new album, 'Cardener', at the Teatre Comarcal de Solsona on 5 June 2026. This performance marks his return to his home city after four years, accompanied by a team of local musicians and technicians.
The concert, scheduled for 8pm, will be recorded on video directly on the theatre stage. It will feature a more intimate setting with limited seating, according to organisers. Gener has previously presented 'Cardener' in other Catalan cities, including Manresa, Barcelona, Riudecanyes, Guardiola de Berguedà, and Lleida.
About 'Cardener'
'Cardener' (Jezz, 2026) is named after the river that flows through the Solsonès region. The album features nine songs that blend rumba, calypso, and bossa nova with swing and traditional song elements. This collection of 'black songs' uses the guitar to create a distinct Mediterranean sound, differing from Gener's previous work.
This is Gener's first album since 'Swing de comarques' (Jezz, 2022), which paid tribute to rural musicians. For the Solsona performance, Gener will be joined by Andreu Moreno on drums, Toni Vilaprinyó on bass, and Javier Juanco on guitar. Sara Reig will manage the lighting, and Albert Bajona will handle sound.
Tickets for the event are available online through Entrades Solsones. General admission is €18, while Jezz members can purchase tickets for €14.
