Salou, Tarragona. Aspiring film extras started queuing more than 18 hours early for an audition for Disney's live-action Tangled film. The casting call, held at the Hotel Sol Costa Daurada, saw hopefuls arrive on the afternoon of 29 April for the 10am start on 30 April.
Among the first in line were Joan Carles Balcells, 44, from Ripoll; Joana Rodríguez, 51, from Barcelona; and Esteban Sánchez, 25, from Manresa. Balcells, who arrived at 4pm the previous day, travelled from Girona by train and bus with only water and a banana for sustenance. He told reporters, "I'm crazy about Disney."
Overnight Wait for Film Roles
The trio spent the night of 29 April outdoors, guarding their spots at the hotel's rear entrance. Their goal was to "secure a place" and try for a role as an extra. "It would be a dream," they said, expressing their strong desire to be part of the production.
The live-action adaptation of the popular animated film Tangled is expected to draw significant interest from residents across Catalonia, eager for a chance to appear in a major Disney production. Further details about the film's production schedule and other casting locations have not yet been released by Disney.
