DSL*Dire Straits Legacy, featuring original members of the iconic rock band, will perform in Cambrils, Tarragona, on 7 August 2026, completing the line-up for the 51st International Music Festival of Cambrils.
This exceptional project, which revives the legacy of Dire Straits, is scheduled to take the stage at Pinaret Park. Tickets for the performance went on sale on 21 April at 11am via www.codetickets.com, according to festival organisers.
The International Music Festival of Cambrils is set to run from 28 July to 10 August 2026. DSL*Dire Straits Legacy is not a typical tribute band; it comprises original musicians who recorded and toured with Dire Straits, keeping the band's distinctive sound alive. This tour marks their first performance in Catalonia.
Original Members Bring Dire Straits Sound to Life
The group is led by keyboardist Alan Clark, who joined Dire Straits in 1980 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Other prominent figures in the line-up include saxophonist Mel Collins, who was involved in iconic stages and tours of the original band, and guitarist Phil Palmer, a key part of Dire Straits' sound during its period of greatest international prominence.
Percussionist Danny Cummings, who also contributed to the band's sound in its later phase, completes the ensemble. This distinguished line-up offers an authentic and powerful reinterpretation of Dire Straits' greatest hits, delivered with the expertise of those who helped build the musical universe from within.
The repertoire includes timeless anthems such as "Sultans of Swing", "Money for Nothing", "Romeo and Juliet", "Walk of Life", "Brothers in Arms", and "Tunnel of Love", among many others.
