Reus, in Tarragona, hosted a new edition of the Dansa i Gastronomia (Dance and Gastronomy) event on Saturday morning, 2 May 2026. This initiative once again brought together dance and local produce, offering a cultural and sensory experience in the city centre.

Organised by the Centre de Lectura Dance School, the event drew crowds throughout the morning. Attendees followed a route that combined food tastings with choreographic pieces. The goal was to create a dialogue between culture and gastronomy, two fields increasingly collaborating in Reus, according to organisers.

One new feature for this third edition was the involvement of Espai Boule – Formació en restauració. This catering training centre took charge of preparing the tastings, giving its students practical experience and public visibility for their work.

Morning Activities in Reus

Throughout the morning, participants sampled local products sourced from Reus Markets and other regional suppliers. Simultaneously, they enjoyed choreographies created and performed by the dance school's students. This blend transformed the venues, including Teatre Bartrina and Centre de Lectura, into an immersive experience where movement and taste were combined.

The Dansa i Gastronomia event is part of the Premis Òrbita de Dansa Contemporània (Òrbita Contemporary Dance Awards). This established city initiative aims to strengthen connections between different disciplines and create links between various sectors.

Beyond this specific event, the day showed a clear desire to build collaboration between cultural and gastronomic figures. It also reinforced Reus's reputation as a place where artistic creation and local products support each other.
