Flood Alert Lifted in Northern Catalonia
Protecció Civil de la Generalitat has deactivated the Inuncat flood emergency plan this morning, after intense rainfall across Catalonia subsided and river levels returned to normal in the Selva, Gironès, and Baix Empordà regions. The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) confirmed that the Riera Gotarra in the Ter river basin and the Daró river in La Bisbal d'Empordà have stabilised, though flows will remain above normal for several hours.
Emergency Services Responded to Over 1,700 Calls
Between Wednesday and Thursday morning, the 112 emergency line received 1,788 calls related to 1,350 incidents nationwide. The most affected areas were Barcelonès with 581 alerts, followed by Vallès Occidental (473), Baix Llobregat (380), and Baix Empordà (69). The Catalan Fire Service responded to 864 incidents during the storm, including 69 in the Girona Emergency Region. The Medical Emergencies Service (SEM) managed 67 alerts affecting 63 people, treating and transporting 14 individuals, eight with minor injuries and six with light injuries.
Road Closures and No Disruptions to Public Transport
A road closure remains in place on the BV-1415 between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Barcelona due to landslides. No disruptions have been reported on public transport networks or electricity supply. The Catalan Meteorological Service does not forecast heavy rain today, although light precipitation may reach western Catalonia on Thursday afternoon.
