A railway infrastructure issue between El Clot and Arc de Triomf stations in Barcelona is causing significant disruption to Rodalies R1, R2 Sud, and R4 lines, according to Renfe. The problem, which occurred on Sunday, has led to service reductions and diversions impacting passengers across the Catalan capital.
For the R1 line, trains heading towards L'Hospitalet de Llobregat are being diverted via Passeig de Gràcia. These services are not stopping at Plaça de Catalunya or Arc de Triomf stations. The frequency of R1 trains has been cut to just two per hour in each direction.
The R2 Sud line is experiencing a similar reduction in service, with only two trains operating per hour in each direction. Meanwhile, R4 line trains travelling towards Sant Vicenç de Calders are also diverted through Passeig de Gràcia. These trains are bypassing Torre Baró, Fabra i Puig, Sagrera, Arc de Triomf, and Plaça Catalunya stations.
Service Adjustments and Shuttle Trains
Renfe has implemented several adjustments to manage the disruption. A shuttle train service has been established between Terrassa and Fabra i Puig. Additionally, trains typically running between Vilafranca and Manresa are now starting and ending their journeys at L'Hospitalet de Llobregat station.
Passengers are advised to check real-time information before travelling, as the situation may evolve. Renfe officials have not yet provided an estimated time for when normal services will resume.
