Barcelona City Council has confirmed it will install natural grass pitches at the Narcís Sala and Nou Sardenya stadiums in Barcelona. This measure ensures that Club Esportiu Europa and Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu can participate in the Primera RFEF league.

The decision follows significant public and neighbourhood mobilisation, particularly in Sant Andreu de Palomar, according to a statement from the city council. The upgrades are critical for the clubs to meet league requirements.

For Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu, the installation of natural grass at Narcís Sala means the club can compete in Primera RFEF at its home stadium. This avoids the need to play matches elsewhere, a common issue for clubs whose facilities do not meet higher league standards.

Similarly, Club Esportiu Europa's men's first team will return to Nou Sardenya once the new pitch is in place. This move is a direct result of the city's commitment to improving local sports infrastructure and supporting its football clubs.

The installation work is expected to start soon, with both clubs aiming to have their home grounds ready for the upcoming Primera RFEF season.
