Barcelona is heading into June 2026 with a packed calendar of festivals, art, film and live experiences across the city. As summer begins, residents and visitors will find major music events, new exhibitions and a wide mix of cultural plans in Catalonia’s capital.

Among the biggest dates, Primavera Sound 2026 tickets are sold out, but the closing party on 6 June will feature Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, BLOND:ISH and Greta. Sónar still has tickets available, according to Barcelona Secreta. For readers following wider local coverage, see our news page.

Barcelona will also host several immersive attractions. Balloon Story is a new exhibition built with nearly 600,000 biodegradable balloons, creating scenes inspired by the seabed, space and famous monuments. It is aimed at both families and adults.

Film fans have several options in June. Reduced-price cinema tickets will be available for four days at most cinemas in Barcelona and nearby areas, while the 31st edition of FIRE!, Barcelona’s LGTBIQ+ film festival, will run ahead of Pride celebrations. The programme includes around 50 films, features and shorts, with a special focus on queer cinema from Arabia and Iran.

The International Women’s Film Festival of Barcelona will also continue through June, both in cinemas and online, under the theme Ruminant Legacies. It will screen films by women filmmakers from around the world.

Other events include The Jury Experience, an interactive murder trial where the audience decides whether the accused is guilty or innocent, and Candlelight’s Bridgerton tribute concert at the Seminari Conciliar de Barcelona. The month also includes +RAIN 2026, the festival focused on artificial intelligence in audiovisual creation, with events at Campus Poblenou of UPF, CCCB and Filmoteca de Catalunya.

Food, photography and performance also feature in the month’s line-up. Meat & Fire will bring three days of grill-focused cooking, concerts, talks and showcookings, while Sant Cugat del Vallès will host its photography festival at the end of June. Looking further ahead, Grec 2026 will mark its 50th anniversary with performances across dozens of venues in Barcelona, including The Threepenny Opera and the return of Rock & Roll Star after a decade away.
