Heavy rainfall hit Alt Empordà, Girona, on Thursday, 14 May 2026, bringing notable precipitation to several meteorological stations across the region.
At the Darnius-Boadella reservoir's weather station, 32.1 mm of rain accumulated by 1.30pm, according to data from the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat).
Significant Rainfall Across the Region
Other areas in the region also recorded substantial rainfall. La Jonquera saw 25.4 mm, while Figueres registered 19.3 mm. Llers received 17.6 mm of rain, and Garriguella recorded 15.8 mm.
These downpours have caused rivers and streams in the area, such as the Susanna irrigation channel in Les Forques, to swell. This increase in water flow presents a welcome image of recovery following a prolonged period of drought.
