Arrest and Fire During Festa Major

One woman was arrested and four waste containers were set on fire in Sabadell during the second night of the city's Festa Major on 6 September 2026. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on Carrer Blasco de Garay, near Plaça Dolors Miralles, prompting a response from multiple firefighting units. Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly, and no damage to nearby vehicles or buildings was reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though authorities have not ruled out deliberate ignition.

Separate Assault Arrest

Earlier in the evening, at 9:51pm, police arrested a woman in Plaça Picasso on suspicion of assaulting another woman. The circumstances of the alleged attack are still being reviewed by officers. Despite these incidents, overall activity during the night remained largely peaceful across central areas of Sabadell. Municipal Police, Mossos d'Esquadra and National Police conducted preventive controls at Sabadell Nord (Renfe) and Creu Alta (FGC) stations between 10pm and 1am. At Sabadell Nord, 55 people were identified and 15 found in possession of illicit substances. At Creu Alta, 44 individuals were identified and 10 were found with substances.

Most incidents across the main festival zones involved alcohol-related intoxication, with no major disturbances reported elsewhere.

Festival organisers and local authorities reiterated their commitment to public safety as the celebrations continue through the week.
