Actions Taken in Multiple Municipalities

Volunteer group Unión de Brigadas has removed separatist propaganda from public areas in nine Catalan municipalities: La Garriga, Vilada, Torrelles de Llobregat, Anglés, Cornellà del Terri, Mediñá, Santa Coloma de Farners, Sarrià de Ter and Seva. The actions, carried out in recent days, targeted flags, banners and murals attached to street furniture such as lamp posts and traffic signs. Self-Funded Campaign for Public Neutrality

Unión de Brigadas operates as a volunteer-driven initiative with no financial compensation for members. Funding comes from personal contributions and public donations. According to their public statements, the group conducts operations primarily at night to avoid disrupting daily traffic and to allow careful planning. Their stated aim is to restore neutrality to shared urban spaces, which they argue have been visually dominated by political symbols for extended periods. They accuse local councils of failing to enforce municipal regulations that prohibit the unauthorised placement of political signage on public infrastructure.

Earlier actions documented by the group include the replacement of a separatist 'estelada' flag with a Spanish national flag atop a hill in Blanes on 24 September 2026 (source).
