Valls City Council has announced a programme of free children's activities for children and adolescents aged 4 to 12, as part of the city's Christmas schedule. Under the slogan "A Christmas in Equality: fun for the kids, time for you!", these events will take place in Plaça Torrent del Titit from 10:30am to 2pm on 20 and 27 December, and 3 January. Attendance will be limited.

Children can enjoy handmade wooden games, giant wooden games of various types, and dynamic activities led by Els Desenchufables. Families will also have access to a monitoring service, with staff looking after the children at all times. The space is set up in one of the city's main commercial areas to allow families time for shopping, errands, or other activities while their children play.

During this time of year, additional responsibilities often increase as families prepare for Christmas. This service aims to help with daily organisation. The municipal childcare activities, organised by the Department of Equality and Feminisms, are part of the Catalan government's "Time for Care" programme. This programme focuses on creating public policies that provide care services to support families' right to time.

Promoting Safe Spaces

The department also works with other city activities during the festive period to promote safe spaces and raise awareness. This year, the Christmas Market, scheduled for 13 and 14 December, will feature an awareness tent run by BeFreya. This is part of the "Building Safe Communities" project, which works to prevent LGTBphobia.
