Two women in Tremp have received suspended prison sentences after admitting theft and cocaine trafficking charges at the Lleida Court. The case was heard in a conformity hearing on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, and the original prosecution had sought four years in prison for robbery with violence and intimidation in an occupied house and drug trafficking.
The court found that one of the women stole €1,300 from the ex-partner of the other. When Mossos d'Esquadra arrested them, officers found €1,900 in cash and 6.65 grams of cocaine intended for sale. The court said the prison terms would be suspended for three years, as long as the women do not commit further offences.
The events took place at 2.30am on 18 November 2022 at a home on Hospital Street in Tremp. According to the sentence, one of the women had ended a relationship with the man five days earlier. While he was speaking to her and asking for money she owed him, the other woman took the opportunity to steal the cash from the home.
After the arrest, Mossos d'Esquadra seized €1,900 in €50 notes and four small bags containing cocaine. The court said the drug had an estimated street value of about €798. During the hearing, the Public Prosecutor's Office changed the legal classification of the facts, and the women were convicted of theft and a less serious public health offence involving substances that cause severe harm to health.
The magistrate imposed six months in prison for the theft and one year and six months for the public health offence on each woman, plus a fine of €402 each. The court also ordered the destruction of the seized drugs and the confiscation of €600 from drug sales. The women must jointly compensate the victim with €1,300, and the fine may be paid in instalments.
The defence accepted the agreed penalties and asked for the prison terms to be suspended, noting that they did not exceed two years and that the accused had no prior criminal records. The court agreed and issued an oral conformity judgment. For more Catalonia-wide court and crime coverage, see our news page.
