Tortosa, Terres de l'Ebre, is seeing accelerated construction on two panoramic lifts and connecting walkways, a key infrastructure project linking the city centre with the Verge de la Cinta Hospital. The initiative, led by the Generalitat, is now entering its most visible phase.
These new lifts and walkways are designed to overcome a 32-metre elevation difference, significantly improving accessibility for residents and visitors travelling between the urban core and the hospital facilities. The project aims to make daily commutes easier and more efficient for those needing to access healthcare services or visit patients.
The Generalitat has been pushing forward with the construction, recognising the importance of better connectivity in Tortosa. Once complete, the infrastructure will offer a direct and convenient route, avoiding the current longer and more challenging paths.
