The government in Tortosa, located in the Terres de l'Ebre region, has criticised Junts per Tortosa for submitting allegations against the 2026 municipal budget. Officials said this move could postpone the budget's entry into force, which was originally scheduled for this week.

According to the Tortosa government, the budget received absolute majority approval on 31 March. The allegations, they said, might delay planned investments and policies by a few weeks.

Budget Delays Expected

Despite the potential delay, the government remains committed to implementing the new financial plan. "These allegations may delay investments and planned policies by a few weeks, but they will not stop us," officials stated. They added that Tortosa will have a new budget for 2026, and it will be the highest in the city's history.

The municipal administration expects the budget to eventually come into effect, ensuring the continuation of public services and new projects for residents.
