Terrassa, in central Catalonia, is planning more than 3,000 new social housing units over the next decade, as the city puts affordable homes at the centre of its housing policy.
Lluïsa Melgares, the councillor for Social Policies and Public Housing Promotion, presented the Local Housing Plan 2026-2031 yesterday. The document sets out the main goal of expanding the city’s protected housing stock.
The municipal government expects to approve the plan this Friday in a plenary session. If approved, it will provide the framework for increasing the number of homes available to residents who need affordable accommodation in Terrassa.
