Reus, in Tarragona, was the scene of a lorry leak in the early hours of 26 May 2026, after a vehicle carrying an inflammable substance suffered a spill at the CIM el Camp logistics park.
Emergency services said one person was taken to a medical centre with minor inhalation injuries. The incident was reported at 3.42am and involved esters, an inflammable material, in a 1,000-litre tank.
Catalonia's Civil Protection agency activated the pre-alert phase of its TRANSCAT plan after the leak was detected. Several emergency teams responded to the scene to deal with the incident.
Firefighters from the Generalitat de Catalunya later recorded negative readings, and Civil Protection deactivated the pre-alert at 4.59am. The spilled product entered the sewage system, and the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) took over management of that part of the response.
