In Cadaqués, SOS Costa Brava has reported alleged urban planning irregularities at the Wecamp Cadaqués campsite to Girona’s Territorial Urban Planning Services. The federation says the complaint concerns the Cadaqués Town Council’s alleged failure to act on works near Portlligat beach.

The group says it first raised the issue three years ago and asked for an urgent inspection, a halt to works and the start of a sanctioning process. It also says it made further complaints in 2023 and 2024, but that the council has still not taken the steps it считает necessary to investigate the claims or enforce planning rules.

Wecamp Cadaqués is on Salvador Dalí Avenue and offers accommodation, a restaurant and a swimming pool. SOS Costa Brava says the alleged irregularities stem from works carried out three years ago in an urbanisable land sector that still needs to complete key planning instruments and adapt to the Girona coast soil review plan.

The federation says it alerted the council in June 2023, then filed a formal complaint over delay in July 2024. It argues that the town council has not resolved the matter or properly exercised its urban planning control functions.

Among the issues it raises are the alleged absence of the land cession needed for roads, the installation of 20 mobile homes despite what it says is a current prohibition, works carried out without a licence, and installations it says do not fit the rules, including flat roofs, skylights, chimneys and metal fences. SOS Costa Brava also says some works may go beyond the authorisations granted.

The federation is asking Girona’s Territorial Urban Planning Services to inspect the area, open a legality protection file and a sanctioning file, and review any authorisations if they are found to conflict with current regulations. It also wants measures to restore planning legality, including sealing works and installations that do not have the proper licence or administrative authorisation. For more local reporting, see news.
