Solsona residents will participate in a "Top 10" citizen workshop on Wednesday, 17 June, to select projects for the 2026-2027 participatory budget. This open session will allow the public to prioritise initiatives that will proceed to a final public vote.
The workshop, held at 7:30pm in the Solsona Town Hall's cultural hall, will focus on 47 initiatives that have passed municipal technical evaluation. These were chosen from 191 ideas submitted during the initial collection phase, according to the council.
Participation is open to everyone, regardless of previous involvement or experience in participatory processes. The aim is to ensure broad citizen engagement in defining projects for the next two years.
Diverse Proposals for Solsona
The validated initiatives cover a wide range of areas. In equipment, proposals include improving access to the new pavilion's changing rooms, expanding the pumptrack, renovating the skatepark, and installing a municipal sound system for events. Several educational projects are also included, such as new shaded areas in the playgrounds of Setelsis and El Vinyet schools.
Mobility and accessibility proposals feature new raised pedestrian crossings, improved pavements, the removal of architectural barriers, and the creation of safe routes for schoolchildren. Plans for renewing road surfaces and improving various streets and avenues in the city have also been approved.
For public spaces, the green areas and natural environment category includes projects to improve the Negre River's route, increase biodiversity, renovate children's parks, restore dry stone walls, and create a new dog socialisation area.
Cultural and tourism initiatives include a historical and heritage route with video guides in Catalan sign language and a project to highlight local hydraulic heritage.
