In Salou, Torre Vella has opened the exhibition El paisatge és casa. El cep, l’arrel (The landscape is home. The vine, the root), by artist montserratADZerias. The show began on Thursday evening, 11 June 2026, and runs until 1 August.

The opening was attended by Salou mayor Pere Granados and culture councillor Júlia Gómez, who joined the artist for the launch. The exhibition links wine, landscape, ethnographic heritage and the recovery of agricultural memory in the municipality.

The works are made using an unusual technique, painting with wine. Through this method, montserratADZerias depicts paths, vineyards, dry stone walls and agricultural scenes, with images that reflect the connection between people and the land.

Granados said culture can help connect Salou with its history and identity, and underlined the value of recovering the town’s ethnographic and wine heritage. He also pointed to current municipal work to bring back elements of Salou’s agricultural past, including the planting of traditional vine varieties in Pla de Maset.

The artist’s work is rooted in Priorat, a landscape of vineyards and mountains that shapes much of her output. She has held more than thirty exhibitions in recent years, and her approach uses wine as an artistic language rather than only as a product of the land.

For readers following local culture across Catalonia, the exhibition adds to a wider conversation about heritage, landscape and identity. More coverage of arts and community stories is available on our news tag page.
