Salou Council is carrying out phased road resurfacing and road marking renewals across the town, as part of its ongoing work to improve public spaces and the urban image of the municipality.
The council says the work is intended to improve safety, order and mobility for residents and visitors. It includes renewing worn road surfaces, correcting uneven sections and improving the visibility of pedestrian crossings, lane dividers, parking areas and other traffic features.
These works are being completed in stages to reduce disruption to traffic and daily movement. The council says public road maintenance remains a constant priority, and that the improvements are designed to make streets more accessible and safer for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and users of personal mobility devices.
Salou also links the work to its role as a tourist destination, saying it wants to present a well-kept town to the almost three million visitors it receives each year. The council says the condition of streets and public spaces is part of the town’s wider civic image.
The municipality is also asking for citizen co-responsibility, saying that clean streets, respect for urban furniture and civic behaviour are part of keeping Salou in good condition. Readers can follow more local coverage on our news tag page.
