Salou will host the Sabor Salou food fair from 22 to 24 May 2026, with the opening event set for Friday 22 May at 7:30pm on Passeig Jaume I. The fair begins with an attempt to make the world’s longest hazelnut and ratafia tiramisu, measuring about 20 linear metres.

The idea for the tiramisu came from chef Edu Cuesta, working with the Salou Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs (AEH) and local cooks. Makro is sponsoring the dessert, which is intended to link gastronomy, local produce and the work of Salou’s culinary professionals.

The tiramisu is also being sold for charity. Each portion will cost €1, with all proceeds going to Salou-based organisations: Creu Roja (Red Cross), Càritas and Eluzai. Organisers expect to distribute more than 2,000 servings.

Beyond the opening dessert, Sabor Salou will bring 56 stands to Passeig Jaume I, with tapas, rice dishes, gourmet burgers, seafood, international food, artisan sweets, wines, cavas and beers. The fair is part of Salou’s wider food calendar and aims to draw residents and visitors alike.

The programme also includes parallel gastronomic activities and sensory experiences. The GastroLab by Makro tent will host workshops, wine and beer tastings, food pairings, showcookings and demonstrations for all ages.

Planned sessions include beer tastings by Mahou-San Miguel, a cooking workshop with Thermomix and activities using DOP Siurana oil. Children will be able to join fruit and cupcake decorating workshops, while adults can take part in tastings of artisan honeys and wines from the DO Catalunya and Tarragona regions.
