Girona cyclist Pau Rodríguez, from Avinyonet de Puigventós, has completed La Traka, one of the toughest gravel cycling events held in Catalonia. He finished the race in under 38 hours after starting and ending in Girona.
The course covered 550 kilometres and included 9,600 metres of positive elevation gain. Riders passed through Ripollès, Alta Garrotxa and Empordà before returning to Girona.
Rodríguez said only half of the 250 participants finished the event. That finish rate underlines how demanding La Traka is for experienced cyclists.
La Traka is part of the growing gravel cycling scene in the Girona area, which continues to draw riders from across Catalonia and beyond. For more local sports coverage, see our news page.
