In Girona province, Catalonia’s Department of Territory plans to begin construction this autumn on a new road link between the N-260 and the C-26 in Ordis. The scheme has been requested for a long time and is expected to be completed by summer 2028, 18 months after work starts.

The tender for the works has now been published, with an estimated cost of €6.8 million. The current T-junction will be replaced by a multi-level interchange, including a small bridge and several safety improvements.

Further measures in the plan include a service road, acoustic screens, and a roundabout in the Torremirona area, near Navata. Officials say these changes are intended to improve safety for drivers and reduce noise for nearby residents.

The section of the N-260 carries about 9,500 vehicles a day, with 8% heavy goods vehicles. The C-26 adds another 4,500 vehicles daily, including 15% lorries. The new link is meant to handle that traffic more effectively and improve flow in the area.
