In Manlleu, the OK Liga promotion play-off has been provisionally suspended by the Administrative Sports Tribunal (TAD), leaving the route to Spain’s top roller hockey league on hold.
The second leg between Martinelia Manlleu and Vilafranca Capital del Vi, which was due to be played today, has been postponed indefinitely. Vilafranca had taken a 3-2 lead from the first leg.
Manlleu submitted allegations to the TAD after disputing decisions made by the Competition and Appeals committees. Those earlier rulings had accepted a complaint from Hoquei Lloret, which changed the promotion picture.
Lloret had lost 7-4 to Mataró in the final league match, but challenged the result on the grounds that goalkeeper Sergi Grané did not play with the correct licence. The Competition Committee ruled in Lloret’s favour and changed the scoreline to a 10-0 win, which gave Lloret direct promotion and sent Manlleu into the play-offs.
Before that, Manlleu had celebrated what it believed was direct promotion after beating Real Club Josaleta 5-3. That celebration was short-lived once the complaint from Lloret was upheld.
The TAD’s latest intervention means the promotion process is now paused while clubs wait for further rulings. For more local sports coverage, see our news page.
