The Mossos d'Esquadra have dismantled a criminal group linked to several violent firearm incidents recorded between 2024 and 2026 in Sant Adrià de Besòs. This investigation began after multiple public violence episodes, part of an ongoing conflict between two deeply rooted criminal groups in the area.
The arrests are connected to events on 3 April, when clashes involving firearms occurred between several individuals. During their inspection, Mossos officers found 16 spent casings at the scene.
Police Operation in La Mina
As part of the investigation, the Mossos deployed an operation last Tuesday, conducting four house searches in the La Mina neighbourhood. Their aim was to locate the alleged perpetrators and the weapons used. Besides arresting two men, who have been in judicial custody since last Thursday, officers also seized three firearms, specifically two shotguns and one pistol. They also found projectiles, cartridges of various calibres, and bladed weapons.
The arrested individuals face charges including assault on authority figures, illegal possession of weapons, threats, and public disorder. According to the Mossos, this operation has helped stop the escalating violence in the area and significantly reduced the risk to residents.
