A Mossos d'Esquadra corporal was honoured in Vila-seca on 5 May for preventing a suicide in Cambrils. The officer, identified as Jordi, responded to an emergency call and entered a house where a woman was about to jump from a window.

Jordi managed to grab the woman by her boot at the last moment, stopping her from falling. This act of bravery earned him a medal at the Dia de les Esquadres ceremony for the Camp de Tarragona Police Region.

Officer's quick action recognised

The ceremony, held in Vila-seca, recognised the work of several Mossos officers. Jordi's actions were highlighted as particularly impactful, with the officer stating it was "the most gratifying" experience of his career, according to Diari de Tarragona.

The annual Dia de les Esquadres event celebrates the dedication and service of the Mossos d'Esquadra across Catalonia. It acknowledges officers who have demonstrated exceptional courage, professionalism, and commitment to public safety throughout the year.
