Mollerussa has started work this week to renew drinking water distribution pipes on the thoroughfare of Avinguda de les Garrigues. This project is part of a larger initiative to improve the water network, which began in November.

The work, communicated to local residents, may lead to temporary water supply interruptions. However, it will not affect vehicle traffic as the area is a pedestrian passage, according to Mollerussa City Council.

These upgrades are part of a broader pipe renewal project the City Council is carrying out across the city. The main goal is to improve the quality of the water supply and modernise parts of the network that have become old. Work has already been completed on Carrer Lluís Millet, Avinguda de la Pau, and Carrer d'Aragó.

Funding for Water Network Improvements

The overall project, awarded for €201,167, includes renewing nearly 900 metres of pipes across these four streets in Mollerussa. The initiative receives a grant from the Lleida Provincial Council, covering 75% of the total cost. The remaining 25% is funded by the City Council's own resources.

Sewerage Pipe Replacement in Carrer Lluís Millet

Separately, the City Council has also awarded a contract for replacing a section of sewerage pipe on Carrer Lluís Millet. Natur Grup Immshop 2016, S.L. secured the contract for €50,395, including VAT. This sewerage work, set to start soon, adds to the previous improvements made on Carrer Lluís Millet for drinking water supply.
